What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is the controlled scraping of the skin using a sterile, surgical blade held at a 45-degree angle. This removes the dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peachy fuzz) from the skin, instantly rejuvenating the skin.

A little about my training.

I was trained by Nicola Russell who owns Skin Geek in Scotland.

Nicola brought dermaplaning to the UK from the USA over 4 years ago and the treatment has soared in popularity.

I trained in this amazing treatment over 3 years ago and I would never look back. I have performed this treatment on many faces and I have a happy clientele.

What will this treatment do for your skin?

Dermaplaning immediately rejuvenates the skin by removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair. It is highly effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, while leaving the skin smooth, supple and vibrant. It creates the perfect canvas for makeup application and increases penetration of your home care products by at least 60%.

Common questions:

  • Will the hair grow back thicker? It is not physiologically possible for the hair to grow back thicker or longer. It will grow back the same as it was before. The hair is being removed at the surface of the skin, nothing is being changed underneath the surface of the skin. The only factors that can change your hair are your hormones.

  • What does it feel like? This treatment is very gentle. The most that is felt is a very light scratching, as there is very little pressure applied to the skin.

  • How often should I have this treatment? It is really important to make sure that the skin has completed it's cycle to prevent injury to new healthy cells. This is usually every 4 weeks and also when the fine vellus hair has grown back.

  • To book for this facial please select bespoke facial and select dermaplaning as an add on treatment.
